ROCK CLIMBING

The Haliburton Highlands has long been treasured as the area of rest and relaxation camping and cottaging surrounding the area.  Hidden amongst the wooded landscape are granite cliffs waiting to be discovered.  If you are looking for a unique opportunity to try something new and exciting that you found the right company.

Elements Guiding offers safe and fun outdoor rock climbing adventures suitable for people of all ages and skill levels.  There is no experience required to participate in this exhilarating sport. You be outfitted with the necessary safety gear and learn the skills to safely enjoy climbing outdoors.

Experiential Rock Climbing

We will gear the experience with the beginner in mind, but have lots to challenge those up and coming rock stars!

All technical equipment is provided for this experience (Helmets, harness, shoes, etc)

*No belaying experience required, participants will be belayed by guide.

Meet up 15-30 Minutes before start of adventure.  We will fill out our waivers and fit equipment.

Safety first,  quick lesson, lots of climbing!

Introductory Rock Climbing

Perhaps you have climbed at an indoor wall before or tried out a portable wall at the fair, well then this course is for you! We explain the basics and let you explore natural rock faces and help you learn more about the exciting world of outdoor rock climbing.

All technical equipment is provided for this experience (Helmets, harness, shoes, etc)

*Belaying is mandatory, but can be refreshed or learned as part of this day course.

Introductory Rock Itinerary

Duration: 9am-4pm

Location: TBA - Various Climbing Crags suited for learning

9:00 - Meet and greet, waivers, gear fitting (harness, helmet, shoes)

9:30 - Hike into the climbing location

9:45 - Site briefing/overview of the day

10:00-12:00 - Skills

12:00-12:30 - Lunch  

12:30-4:00 - Skills

4:00 - Wrap up and review

- Basic climbing technique (bouldering/spotting)
- Learn about the top roping setup
- Tying knots
- Learn to belay
- Climbing commands

THE SHARP END
  • Sport climbing courses to transition you from the gym to the outdoor realm.
  • Traditional climbing courses to learn how to place your own protection.
GUIDED
  • A day of  choose your adventure. Pick a location, pick a climb and lets get after it.

Personal harness, shoes and helmet required. All technical equipment is provided for this experience (Ropes, quickdraws, etc)

*Participants should have previous climbing experience. Please let us know where you are at in your climbing game and we can customize a program to meet your needs.
